About Us

'Ophelia' - a nod to traditional theatre and history which is always re-invented in the present, is a female character in the play 'Hamlet'. She is an ambiguous character, who is seemingly weak, yet arguably strong , depending on how you read the play and interpret her words.

'Circus' derives from the Greek word 'kirkos' meaning circle or ring. A circus is often referred to as one of the lowest forms of art - despite the sheer skill and awe it exhibits. 'Ophelia Circus' is interested in exploring areas of life that are not quite what they seem, or need prising open in order to be more visible to the world.
